History: As with most of the Shingeki No Kyojin cast, Christa's history is shrouded in Mystery. The only one that seems to really know is herself and she's rather good at keeping secrets.
The events surrounding the Colossal Titan and the breaking of Wall Maria lead Christa to begin her life as a Trainee in the 104th group. After her graduation, the top 10 students were allowed to either move up to the ranks of the Military Police or pick any of the factions of the Military to work for. Christa graduated 10th only because Ymir gave it to her meaning, she was originally in the 11th place. The reason for this came later but had always puzzled Christa.
With the breaching of Wall Rose, Christa was sent to battle with the rest of the new and fresh trainees. She's seen when Armin was in a state of distress, having just witnessed Eren becoming Titan food. While Ymir replied with a catty jab at Armin, Christa was quick to try and silence the fight, reading the mood of the situation and that Armin was suffering. They all soon witnessed the birth of Eren's titan form once he emerged from the titan that had eaten him. With that, she joined the plan in taking back the supply room with the gas for their 3D Gear's gas.
After the events with Eren's titan shifting abilities and the appearance of The Female Titan, Christa was with the group taken out on the 57th expedition to take back the wall. She was seen when Jean and Armin lose their horses after coming face to face with the Female Titan. The boys were rather surprised that it was the 4'9 soldier who brought them salvation and there, another tally mark was added to her being called a God Sent. In her mind, she was just happy to see familiar faces and friends alive. Reiner even commented to say that animals took a shine to her.
Returning to the expedition, Christa was on guard duty in the trees with Nanaba as Erwin set his trap to capture the Female Titan since it was discovered that it was not just any Titan, it was a Human with Titan ability just like Eren.
Tragically, the mission failed and they returned back behind the safety of the Wall. Christa was no longer seen until much later.
The Female Titan, during her attempted escape after being identified, scaled the wall yet Mikasa was able to cut her hands and kick her back down to the ground. The Female Titan's hand had gripped so tight that she ripped part of the wall apart. This brought to light a grim, grim discovery. Titans, large ones that match the Colossal, were sealed INSIDE the walls. This shattered the foundation of the superior officers and many others since no one had known what lay inside the walls nor could anyone find a reason as to why they were there. The only ones that seemed to have any knowledge saw the walls as a Deity and formed a Cult that prayed to it. When the Pastor showed his devotion to the wall (by rather being killed that confess what he knew) he told the others who COULD reveal the secrets of the wall. That person was Christa.
By this time, Christa and others are put on civilian duty due to the reveal of Annie infiltrating the ranks. They believed that there might of been others. For some time, the trainees were subject to doing nothing but waiting around for orders.
When Titan's began attacking, Christa and others were holed up inside a Castle called Castle Utgard. It was there the others tried so hard to fight back the titans that gathered around. When they realized they were in no shape to fight, they hurried to try and hole up the castle from titan's getting inside. Reiner tried to seal one of the doors that a titan broke through and in the process, injured his arm. Christa was quick to help him and drowned his wound a bottle of wine (sadly, one of the other officers wanted to enjoy it before his death but was never able to and cursed the person who took it). Unable to find bandages, she shredded and used her own skirt as a wrap, apologizing to Reiner for doing so. Though he looked angry, he thanked her and internally told her to marry him already.
Rushing to the tower, Christa and the others witnessed the defeat of the officers that tried their best to protect the trainees and things began to look grim for them. Their only safety was a tower that looked one stone away from collapsing. In the brightness of the moonlight, each of them witnessed something else they had never seen nor heard of. Far off in the distance, a giant Ape like Titan strolled by and climbed the wall. Nothing more and nothing less came from the situation.
The Titans began pushing the tower and Christa made an idle comment about dying while fighting in which Ymir chastised her for using THEIR death as HER leverage. It was there that we realized that Christa had a bit of a martyr complex. The next pages were flashbacks of when Ymir had followed Christa during a snowy expedition.
Christa had made it a point to take Dazz from the frozen depths and see to it that he got medical attention at the base of the cliff. All the while, even with Ymir there, she never asked for help or assistance from Ymir. She was determined to do it all on her own. For this, Ymir called her out on her Martyr complex. Ymir confessed that she had heard talk from the priests of the Wall Cult about the King and a daughter he should never of had and that would of caused a dispute in the Kingdom. That daughter would of made things in the Royal Family difficult and as such was given the choice to live under a lie of a name or be killed. Ymir concluded that that's probably why Christa took it upon herself to do so many good deeds; in the eyes of other, she would of lived a savior's life. To be thrown out of her home, forced to change her name, do good deeds and die as a good person. The perfect angel. Christa was stunned in silence, wondering just how someone found her out but even despite knowing that about her, Ymir followed close to Christa.
After confronted with that, Ymir made a promise that if she ever showed her secret to Christa, she would have to live under her real name. The promise seemed to be silently made and Ymir and Dazz disappeared. Once Christa found her way to the bottom of the cliff, Ymir was seated there waiting. Shocked, she asked where Dazz was and Ymir took her to see that Dazz was safe, in bed and recovering.
Back at Castle Utgard, Ymir confronted Christa once more. Stunned, Christa could do nothing but witness Ymir taking a knife and charged at her. Ymir jumped over Christa and sliced her own hand; with a crack the group is stunned to discover that Ymir was also a Titan. Reiner questioned Christa, wondering if she ever knew about Ymir's abilities and with nothing but truth, she replied that she knew nothing of it.
Ymir continued to battle but did her best to avoid the tower. Christa realized that Ymir was avoiding it because of them since if she used the castle as a crutch, it would collapse with her and the others on top. Unable to take watching her friend risk her life (and limbs), Christa begaun to cheer and told Ymir not to worry if the castle collapsed and to fight for herself, not for them. (Not everyone is on board with this obviously...) Ymir came back to the top of the castle and spoke, something Titans were longed believed to not be able to do, and told them to get on her if they wanted to live. With that, they rode the castle down atop the titans.
Tired and bruised, the group formed together only to witness as the titans shuffled out from the debris. Seeing Ymir being ripped to shreds, Christa hurried to try and confess her name to Ymir, wanting nothing more than to fulfill her promise. As she did so, she was grabbed by a Titan and things looked grim but just as hope seemed lost, Mikasa and others appeared to defeat the titans and save the group.
Ymir was still alive though she had missed most of her limbs from the Titan's ripping her apart. Holding her close, Christa confessed to Ymir that her real name was Historia Reiss.
Back at the safety of the wall, Christa/Historia, pleaded with Hanji to go easy on Ymir since she was an ally of mankind. She told Hanji everything Ymir had done for them and how she saved the group. Hanji told Christa that it wasn't so easy anymore but that they'd see how things could go. She was also able to put two and two together and linked Christa with the bloodline of Royalty.
With everyone safe, or so they assume, disaster struck as Reiner confessed to Eren that he and Bertholdt were the Armored and Colossal Titan that caused this war on Mankind. Mikasa had attacked them and in their panicked fear, they exploded and turned in to their Titan forms. Using the steam, Bertholdt was able to kidnap Ymir by eating her. The amount of steam had made it nearly impossible to follow after them after the initial attack and it was 5 hours later that everything became clear enough. While the others told her to stay behind, she reasoned with Mikasa that they stole something precious from her, just like they took Eren from Mikasa. With that resolution, the group made their way after the traitors.
At the large forest, the group had caught up with them and used their 3D gear to get closer. Ymir, however, had turned in to a Titan and while Christa was happy to see she was safe and alive, tragedy struck with Ymir closing her Titan mouth around Christa, looking as if she had eaten her.
Personality: Christa is known as the Goddess of the 104th. This title was gained, though unknowing really to her, amongst the trainees for the good deeds she would do for everyone. This has also made her "wife" material as Reiner had said a few times that he would want to marry her.
An example of such is when Sasha had spent the entire day running until she finally passed out, Christa was there to offer bread and water. Sasha ended up asking if she was God and though she just smiled, it was soon interrupted by Ymir chastising Christa for doing things that she doesn't need to do. Because of this, Ymir and Christa tend to bump heads on things. Another case being when Ymir teased and criticized Sasha for talking in such an overly polite way, Christa said that it was what Sasha should do. To speak as herself and never change for anyone else. Even if Ymir didn't agree, Christa was quick to make sure her friend was alright. One might classify Ymir and Christa as an old married couple that bicker over little things but it mostly stemmed from their drastic different personalities and looks on life. However, Christa is not afraid to stand up to Ymir on some things and goes as far as to headbutt her when she becomes too offensive to others. A rare sort of aggression.
Always shy, this aids Christa's "god like" nobility through the trainees. She is often seen as someone frail and not fit for War but always surprises others with her deeds and attempts to gain honor through them. The first time the trainees had seen battle, a fellow trainee named Dazz had thrown up due to nerves and just the realization that they were at war. Christa tried her best, ever worried, to calm him by rubbing his back. Even with the shyness, Christa often is the one to play the mediator when times are rough. When Armin remained in his daze after Eren was eaten by a Titan, Ymir (once again) believed that it should of been Armin to get eaten in which Connie retaliated. Knowing the mood was stressful, Christa took it upon herself to try and calm the qualm so they could move on with the battle plans.
While Christa has never been seen fighting, her abilities must be good since she was crowned the 10th graduate to be eligible for entering in to the King's Army. However, with the knowledge that Eren's titan abilities could help win back a stepping ground for Humanity, she opted to join the Scouting Legion but even then, nearly cried. While Ymir mocked her, she held her ground and gave her best devotion.
During the expedition where they encountered the Female Titan, Jean, Armin and Reiner had lost two of their horses and believed that one of them would have to stay behind. However, Christa saw their signal and hurried to them with two extra horses which surprised the trio. She mentioned that the horses were spooked by something and that they had come to her, in which Reiner made the observation that animals seem to take a liking to her. Happy to see that they were alright, Christa nearly cried and wiped away tears that formed in her eyes. Such a small and simple act has led others to see her in a Holy sort of light.
Despite the sweetness that Christa shows, at the battle of Castle Utgard a new side of her was seen. When Ymir showed her titan abilities and made Christa remember the promise they made on the mountain, she easily disregarded her and her companions lives to cheer on Ymir who fought the titans for their sake. Christa told Ymir to not worry for them and to fight for herself, something she still holds on to even after the battle but the lines seem blurred. Through her acts of kindness, Christa had become a rather kind person who relied on Ymir but did her best to help everyone. Her resolution was to keep their promise. Even when faced with practically being taken and eaten by a titan, Christa's mentality was to reveal her name to Ymir which she was able to do once Mikasa and the others saved them after Ymir's heroic fight.
It seemed like only Ymir was able to see through some of her plans to win honor using others as crutches and had even called her out on it. A flashback showed that Christa was intent on getting Dazz off of the mountain in a blizzard, alone, and to safety despite Ymir following behind her. This showed that Christa was so easily willing to risk her life to help someone else though Ymir was able to tell exactly why.
After being outcast by her Family, Christa had worked hard to do good deeds in hopes that one day she would achieve honor and possibly win some recognition from her estranged family for being a Martyr. Sometimes, this can lead to selfish habits and willingly risking others lives in order to achieve her goal. However, since Utgard, Christa has stepped more out of her shell and to being her true self which isn't far off from her normal self. She has assumed life under her real name thanks to Ymir's help and the promise the two had made and because of such, Christa will do all she can to keep Ymir safe after she revealed that she was a Titan as well.
When Reiner and Bertholdt revealed their true identities and stole Ymir, Christa made it her resolution to get Ymir back. This change of personality could be similar to Mikasa's determination to get Eren back as well. While they told her to stay at the wall, Christa told them that she was going and that Armin and Mikasa could understand just how she felt. Despite living a soldier's life, Christa holds a special place for those who touch her heart. Ymir is a big part of Christa's life and as such, Christa will continue to do what she can to look after and keep Ymir safe.
Special Abilities: As part of the trainees of the 104th and Scouting Legion, Christa's abilities are rather normal to their world. She's able to use her 3D Gear and thanks to her small size, use less gas than others. She also seems to have a knack for drawing animals to her, a trait which Reiner had commented on.
She's always willing to help and will go out of her way for people.

If Bertholdt and Reiner are really black mailing her, perhaps there was something she could do to win back Ymir's captivity. There simply has to be a reason why Ymir was so willing to 'eat' her. It's not a betrayal, not in the least bit and there were others who might of seen the events and thought Ymir was against Humanity. She doesn't though. Christa knows there's something off about everything so she'll do what she can to find out what's going on.
The dark skies settled and titans, for the most part, stopped moving. The rain had come to wash the smell of decay from the air. It's a small comfort to know the Earth can smell nice. Holding a small hand out, she gathers a palm full of fresh water and brings it close to rub over her face. No matter how many times she bathes, she'll probably never get the smell of Titan saliva from her but she'll take the saliva over the smell of blood any day.*
There has to be a reason she did it... I'll be sure to find out what it is so I can take her back to the wall.

Whatever it is, I need to get her back and try to get Eren back for Mikasa. Before anymore blood is spilled. * With a small sigh, she pushes her hair from her eyes and steals a glance to the campsite where they've gathered for the night. Once friends now traitors... The thought is enough to break her heart. Reiner was like a brother to everyone and the boys would always talk about Bertholdt's 'artistic sleeping'.

Third Person: How long had she been wandering now? A day? Two? Perhaps even longer...
All the days seemed to blur in to one long line with no end nor a beginning. The sun rose and set but the skies remained darken by the clouds of the lingering and oncoming storm.
Citizens within the wall would cover their goods, children and themselves and hurried off to their homes where they would warm themselves by fireplaces and sit to meals. But not her.
She was dressed in nothing more than rags and a shawl wrapped around her shoulders to fight the bitter cold.
The first few droplets meant nothing but once the rain began to pick up more, Christa glanced up towards the sky and let the droplets roll over her skin like tears that trailed paths along her cheeks. She sighed and pulled up her shawl, wrapping it around her head to shelter her from the elements yet it did so little to keep her dry.
Step after step, she jogged towards one of the houses with a tent that she tried to seek shelter under. Thankful to be dry, she lowered her shawl and fiddled some with her hair. Out of the corner of her eyes Christa noticed that there was a flickering candle light in the house. Curiosity got to her and she moved closer and peeked inside.
A family. Happy, content and smiling at one another. With her face remaining blank, memories drew paths in her mind of the fights that would happen between her family members. The memories always seemed to end with the ultimatum given to her. Take a new name and live or die by their hands then and there. Historia Reiss was no more...
"You there! What are you doing?" Came the voice that boomed like thunder out of nowhere.
Startled, she stood up with wide eyes. "I'm sorry! I was just...looking for a dry place to stay until the rain let up!" She said with a fiddle of her hands against the rags of her dress.
"What's your name?" Asked the officer who was dressed with white pants, dark blue shirt and a tan jacket with two roses decorating the emblems and patches. He was from the Garrison and though she didn't know exactly who he was, she knew of the branches of military officers who looked after citizens and the wall while the others risked their lives outside the walls or lived lazily by the King's side.
With a small moment of hesitation, she pushed some of her damp, blonde hair behind her ear. "I'm Christa. Christa Renz."

However, Christa is not afraid to stand up to Ymir on some things and goes as far as to headbutt her when she becomes too offensive to others. A rare sort of aggression.
Always shy, this aids Christa's "god like" nobility through the trainees. She is often seen as someone frail and not fit for War but always surprises others with her deeds and attempts to gain honor through them. The first time the trainees had seen battle, a fellow trainee named Dazz had thrown up due to nerves and just the realization that they were at war. Christa tried her best, ever worried, to calm him by rubbing his back. Even with the shyness, Christa often is the one to play the mediator when times are rough. When Armin remained in his daze after Eren was eaten by a Titan, Ymir (once again) believed that it should of been Armin to get eaten in which Connie retaliated. Knowing the mood was stressful, Christa took it upon herself to try and calm the qualm so they could move on with the battle plans.
While Christa has never been seen fighting, her abilities must be good since she was crowned the 10th graduate to be eligible for entering in to the King's Army. However, with the knowledge that Eren's titan abilities could help win back a stepping ground for Humanity, she opted to join the Scouting Legion but even then, nearly cried. While Ymir mocked her, she held her ground and gave her best devotion.
During the expedition where they encountered the Female Titan, Jean, Armin and Reiner had lost two of their horses and believed that one of them would have to stay behind. However, Christa saw their signal and hurried to them with two extra horses which surprised the trio. She mentioned that the horses were spooked by something and that they had come to her, in which Reiner made the observation that animals seem to take a liking to her. Happy to see that they were alright, Christa nearly cried and wiped away tears that formed in her eyes. Such a small and simple act has led others to see her in a Holy sort of light.
Despite the sweetness that Christa shows, at the battle of Castle Utgard a new side of her was seen. When Ymir showed her titan abilities and made Christa remember the promise they made on the mountain, she easily disregarded her and her companions lives to cheer on Ymir who fought the titans for their sake. Christa told Ymir to not worry for them and to fight for herself, something she still holds on to even after the battle but the lines seem blurred. Through her acts of kindness, Christa had become a rather kind person who relied on Ymir but did her best to help everyone. Her resolution was to keep their promise. Even when faced with practically being taken and eaten by a titan, Christa's mentality was to reveal her name to Ymir which she was able to do once Mikasa and the others saved them after Ymir's heroic fight.
It seemed like only Ymir was able to see through some of her plans to win honor using others as crutches and had even called her out on it. A flashback showed that Christa was intent on getting Dazz off of the mountain in a blizzard, alone, and to safety despite Ymir following behind her. This showed that Christa was so easily willing to risk her life to help someone else though Ymir was able to tell exactly why.
After being outcast by her Family, Christa had worked hard to do good deeds in hopes that one day she would achieve honor and possibly win some recognition from her estranged family for being a Martyr. Sometimes, this can lead to selfish habits and willingly risking others lives in order to achieve her goal. However, since Utgard, Christa has stepped more out of her shell and to being her true self which isn't far off from her normal self. She has assumed life under her real name thanks to Ymir's help and the promise the two had made and because of such, Christa will do all she can to keep Ymir safe after she revealed that she was a Titan as well.
When Reiner and Bertholdt revealed their true identities and stole Ymir, Christa made it her resolution to get Ymir back. This change of personality could be similar to Mikasa's determination to get Eren back as well. While they told her to stay at the wall, Christa told them that she was going and that Armin and Mikasa could understand just how she felt. Despite living a soldier's life, Christa holds a special place for those who touch her heart. Ymir is a big part of Christa's life and as such, Christa will continue to do what she can to look after and keep Ymir safe.
Special Abilities: As part of the trainees of the 104th and Scouting Legion, Christa's abilities are rather normal to their world. She's able to use her 3D Gear and thanks to her small size, use less gas than others. She also seems to have a knack for drawing animals to her, a trait which Reiner had commented on.
She's always willing to help and will go out of her way for people.

First Person: * They were still on the run but that didn't mean they couldn't be nice to one another. Besides, there was still information of her own that she wanted to somehow find out from everything that was going on. Like why Ymir was so easily going along with everything...
If Bertholdt and Reiner are really black mailing her, perhaps there was something she could do to win back Ymir's captivity. There simply has to be a reason why Ymir was so willing to 'eat' her. It's not a betrayal, not in the least bit and there were others who might of seen the events and thought Ymir was against Humanity. She doesn't though. Christa knows there's something off about everything so she'll do what she can to find out what's going on.
The dark skies settled and titans, for the most part, stopped moving. The rain had come to wash the smell of decay from the air. It's a small comfort to know the Earth can smell nice. Holding a small hand out, she gathers a palm full of fresh water and brings it close to rub over her face. No matter how many times she bathes, she'll probably never get the smell of Titan saliva from her but she'll take the saliva over the smell of blood any day.*
There has to be a reason she did it... I'll be sure to find out what it is so I can take her back to the wall.
* She nods to herself as if it were to solidify her resolution. *
Whatever it is, I need to get her back and try to get Eren back for Mikasa. Before anymore blood is spilled. * With a small sigh, she pushes her hair from her eyes and steals a glance to the campsite where they've gathered for the night. Once friends now traitors... The thought is enough to break her heart. Reiner was like a brother to everyone and the boys would always talk about Bertholdt's 'artistic sleeping'.

Third Person: How long had she been wandering now? A day? Two? Perhaps even longer...
All the days seemed to blur in to one long line with no end nor a beginning. The sun rose and set but the skies remained darken by the clouds of the lingering and oncoming storm.
Citizens within the wall would cover their goods, children and themselves and hurried off to their homes where they would warm themselves by fireplaces and sit to meals. But not her.
She was dressed in nothing more than rags and a shawl wrapped around her shoulders to fight the bitter cold.
The first few droplets meant nothing but once the rain began to pick up more, Christa glanced up towards the sky and let the droplets roll over her skin like tears that trailed paths along her cheeks. She sighed and pulled up her shawl, wrapping it around her head to shelter her from the elements yet it did so little to keep her dry.
Step after step, she jogged towards one of the houses with a tent that she tried to seek shelter under. Thankful to be dry, she lowered her shawl and fiddled some with her hair. Out of the corner of her eyes Christa noticed that there was a flickering candle light in the house. Curiosity got to her and she moved closer and peeked inside.
A family. Happy, content and smiling at one another. With her face remaining blank, memories drew paths in her mind of the fights that would happen between her family members. The memories always seemed to end with the ultimatum given to her. Take a new name and live or die by their hands then and there. Historia Reiss was no more...
"You there! What are you doing?" Came the voice that boomed like thunder out of nowhere.
Startled, she stood up with wide eyes. "I'm sorry! I was just...looking for a dry place to stay until the rain let up!" She said with a fiddle of her hands against the rags of her dress.
"What's your name?" Asked the officer who was dressed with white pants, dark blue shirt and a tan jacket with two roses decorating the emblems and patches. He was from the Garrison and though she didn't know exactly who he was, she knew of the branches of military officers who looked after citizens and the wall while the others risked their lives outside the walls or lived lazily by the King's side.
With a small moment of hesitation, she pushed some of her damp, blonde hair behind her ear. "I'm Christa. Christa Renz."
